EXERCISE

Top on my list of Essential Preventive Health Habits is moving your body. Express yourself! With whatever style or activity appeals to you, make it joyful, rewarding, with breath awareness and emotion! Walk, bike, swim, stretch, add cardio, try something new. Get outside if possible.

DRY SKIN BRUSHING

Brushing is terrific for accelerating lymphatic drainage and reducing inflammation. Be sure to use gentle, feathering, repetitive strokes, always go towards the heart. Do this while your skin is DRY, it should tickle. You can scrub with this brush in the shower, but that is for exfoliation, and if you are rough, it’s too heavy to move the very light lymphatic fluid.

EPSOM SALT BATH

Especially wonderful to do after you Exercise. It draws out the lactic acid that remains in your muscles after a workout, which is often why you feel achey and sore later. If you like showers, just use liquid soap mixed with a handful of Salts, and scrub it all over your skin, it works almost as well!

LYMPH MASSAGE

This gentle style accelerates lymphatic drainage, mobilizes the immune system, flushes out wastes, and reduces inflammation. Be sure to use light, feathering strokes, always go towards the heart. Pulse at the lymph nodes, and stretch the skin in slow, repetitive circles. Remember, you ARE a Body of Water, so treat yourself with the lullaby of the ocean.

BOUNCE

Use a Sports Ball, it’s safer, cheaper, and more versatile than a Rebounder. Plus it’s just as good! Your lymphatic system is your “internal shower”, and being a Fluid, is affected by gravity. Bouncing shakes up the “silt in your riverways”, and by moving your muscles, helps stimulate all your lymph nodes to filter wastes out of your body. That’s the goal! And be sure to BREATHE!
